It's hard to believe, but according to a headline
that I read today, 'Israel has risen five places to fourth in the 2023 World
Happiness Report, which is sponsored by the UN, through a poll conducted by
Gallup, measuring happiness in countries between 2020 and 2022. In the 2022
report Israel has risen from 12th to ninth, and it now finds itself in
fourth place'.
I can't figure out when this poll was conducted; is <this year>'s
position dependent on the values of three years prior to <this year>?
One thing is clear: maybe we were happy, but not in 2023! I suspect that the
2024 report will show a sharp decline in Israel's happiness.
